From the recording Gold and Coal
Blue Monday was a term used by miners to reflect the sense of melancholy brought by the start of a new work week . Friday was a day of hope as wages were received and meant a temporary relief from hard work. But by Monday, wallets were empty again, reminding them of the ongoing struggle to survive amid relentless labor underground.
We alternate between major and minor harmonic themes throughout this piece to echo the emotional cycle of hope and despair. Mirroring the reality of being trapped in a repetitive emotional and psychological struggle.

Lyrics
Sunshine on the window
Pains my heart
And the Moon too soon on the rise
Blinds my eyes
Somewhere I know
Whispering low
Another Blue Mondays’
Waiting for you
